1212Audio file tags are used to save data in audio files.  The most common tags are genre, artist and title of the song.  There are many other tags that are supported.  BallroomDJ has the capability of writing out the song data to the audio file.  BallroomDJ supports writing tags to FLAC, MP3 and OGG-vorbis audio files.

14 Writing the audio file tags creates a backup of the data that is stored in the BallroomDJ database.  If all tags are written to the audio files, a ''Rebuild Database'' will be able to restore the entire BallroomDJ database.

1616When BallroomDJ writes the audio file tags for MP3 files, they are converted to version ID3v2.4 tags. '''''"Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player cannot handle ID3v2.4 tags in any version, up to and including Windows 8 / Windows Media Player 12."''''' If you use Windows Media Player or other audio program that cannot process ID3v2.4 tags, the BallroomDJ settings should not be changed.
