Sequenced Playlists

(Updated 2017-10; BallroomDJ version 3.15.5)

Sequences are used to select the sequence of dances. BallroomDJ will choose the song to be played.

Sequences are used to create repeating sequences of songs such as standard rounds (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep), or a sequence of dances to be played for an entire evening, or for any other purpose.

To create a sequenced playlist, first create a sequence of dances to use. Select Edit Sequence from the main menu.

On the left is the sequence being edited. On the right is the list of dances that can be selected.

An existing sequence can be loaded, the current sequence can be saved, and the sequence can be modified with the Move Up, Remove and Move Down buttons.

The dances listed are the default dances selected in the Edit Dances configuration screen. The Show All checkbox will display all the available dances. Select the dances to add to the sequence and select the Select button.

Select the dances and adjust the sequence to your satisfaction.

A playlist with the same name will automatically be created.

Select Playlist Management in the main menu. Select the name of the playlist to load and select the Load button.

Dance Rating is used to select songs with a rating as good as or better than the selected rating. Note that the dance rating weights will change how often particular ratings are played.

When Unrated Ok? is turned on, songs that do not yet have a rating will also be played.

Normally a song that has a keyword set will not be played. To allow these songs, enter a list of keywords in the Allowed Keywords field.

If the songs to be played should be limited to songs with particular keywords set, enter the keywords in the Required Keywords field.
