iTunes Link Up Not Working

I have loaded Ballroom DJ v2.24 and set up my files as in the attached document. When I go to Global options and click on the iTunes Setup button I get a quick flash of the "Processing iTunes Data" box but then it disappears and nothing further happens. When I go to the "Update Database" tab and select and run "Update from iTunes" I see processing and the output I have also attached. But I can tell I'm not really linking to iTunes as none of my music files are available. Any ideas? I am running Windows 10 and iTunes 12.4.1. I did check the "Share iTunes Library XML with other applications" in the advanced preferences. Thanks, Dave.

The most likely situation is that BallroomDJ is not locating the iTunes XML file properly.
I have some questions. I just want to make sure everything is set up correctly.

a) Configuration -> Options : Folders
Music Folder
Is the music folder set to the same folder where iTunes stores its audio files?
You can check where the iTunes media folder is in the iTunes advanced preferences.
b) Configuration -> Options : Global
Enable iTunes Import is turned on.

Can you open a command line window (Start -> cmd.exe) and type in the following command:
tclsh %HOMEPATH%/Desktop/BallroomDJ/bin/itunesimport.tcl -check
and let me know what the output is?

iTunes has many different variations of where it keeps its XML file and we need to make sure it can be located.

Here's some example output from Windows 7 / iTunes 12.3:
tclsh %HOMEPATH%/Desktop/BallroomDJ/bin/itunesimport.tcl -check
C:/Users/bll/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml

Tomorrow I will put some audio files into iTunes and test everything, make sure it works properly.
I do have Windows 10 and I can match your setup exactly.

Ok, I have duplicated the problem and am working on a fix.
I will get the fix out as soon as I can.

Ok, this should be fixed in version 2.25.4.
It is available for download now.

Sorry about the problems. Not everything has an automated test as yet.

Hi, thanks for the iTunes fix. It did get me further along as now when I click on the iTunes Setup button in the Global Options I do get a ratings and field selection box. I was not getting that before. When I Update Database it seems to work as I see over 4000 files processed. My HOMEPATH as you requested is below and looks right.

C:\Users\djust>tclsh %HOMEPATH%/Desktop/BallroomDJ/bin/itunesimport.tcl -check
C:/Users/djust/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml

But I cannot get any songs to display in Music Manager or Player. No matter how I filter nothing is returned. I ran a rebuild with log from the database load. I will send you the logfile.txt and masterlist.txt.

I have included the patch I sent you in version 2.25.5.

The fix should prevent the program from crashing, though it does not help get the problem .m4a files into your database.

Maybe someday I will find a better way to handle .m4a files.
